This blog should not be confused for legal advice. The advice given within these posts is nothing more than advice from a well-intentioned private citizen. While I have made every effort to make sure this information is accurate and factual, there may be errors I am not aware of. This blog is not intended as a replacement for actual educational courses, and/or training that may be found elsewhere. As you read on it must be understood that the advice given does not constitute either legal nor medical advice. Please seek the appropriate sources for such information on your own.

Some subjects such as self-defense, citizen’s arrest, and equipment, will be touched upon in these posts, however it is the responsibility of the reader to learn their local statutes, laws, regulations, and ordinances. With fifty separate States, and thousands of municipalities, it would be impossible for me to be able to provide such information to any particular reader.  For simplicity’s sake I will approach most subjects from my point of view as a security professional licensed in the State of New York.

It is ALWAYS the duty of every citizen to obey the lawful directions of police authorities, and emergency personnel. At no time should a private citizen seek to take the law into their own hands, or act in an unlawful or irresponsible manner.
